We are looking for enthusiastic candidates to join our repairs team as a Diesel Mechanic

Who are we?

Breko was founded in 1974 as a business offering repair, overhaul, and maintenance services for diesel engines. Breko is established on the banks of the Beneden Merwede and the quay of the Ketelhaven harbour in Papendrecht, where we have all the facilities needed for the maintenance, repair, and newbuilding of modern ships.

What will you do?

  • Independently work on mechanical ship components
  • Independently solve malfunctions, defects, and other problems
  • Advise customers on the use and maintenance of the engines and other components
  • Prepare the work: gather the right information, special tools, components, and materials
  • Perform periodic maintenance and overhaul of engines and other components
  • Perform troubleshooting on all types of engines
  • Report the work carried out to the immediate supervisor and to the customer on-site
  • Gather customer information, in order to structure your work
  • The work is performed at our own workshop and on-site (mainly Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Antwerp, and occasionally at other locations)

Who are you?

  • Ideally, you are a trained diesel mechanic at intermediate vocational education level (MBO 2 or 3 according to the Dutch system) or have gained this knowledge through relevant work experience
  • You are known for having a flexible work attitude
  • You are good at working independently as well as in a team
  • You are eager to learn and want to continue to develop in your field of work
  • You are available full-time
  • If necessary, you are prepared to work overtime on evenings and weekends
